Dear Parent,
As parent of three myself in 1970s, I realized that every child has a variety of talents and capabilities and school education needs to be diverse and creative, if it is to meet the individual needs of every child. Unfortunately, the school's at that time were limited by their teaching methodologies; dealing with every child in the same manner and forcing them to memorize everything. So in 1984, on one of my overseas trips, I was introduced to the concept of Reggio Emilia method of teaching which mandated "Project Based Learning".
The Reggio Emilia approach is an educational philosophy, not a rigid system. It is based on the principal of learning by doing and requires that children have some control over the direction of their learning; I was immediately fascinated by the concept as in my opinion this methodology revoked all the problems associated with traditional learning. I subsequently founded Kohsar Children's Academy to give a form to my vision.
Over the years many of my teaching methodologies have evolved but at the heart, the concept has remained the same i.e. Learning by Doing. At Kohsar Children's Academy we offer a dynamic environment where problem solving, presentation skills, teamwork, etiquettes, manners and lateral thinking are given as much emphasis as Maths and Science.
Kohsar Children's Academy has been and will always be my life mission. For this reason I have run the school with minimum profitability for the last 38 years, hence maintaining the best staff to student ratio not only in the region but probably in the province. It gives me great pride when my students grow up to be well groomed, sophisticated and successful individuals.
However, it needs to be borne in mind that successful education happens only when both parents and school accept the responsibility to help each child reach constructive maturity so that they are ready for the educational experiences that lie ahead. I hope that you and I shall combine to make this educational journey a successful one for your child.
